What is plastering?

Plastering is a process used to produce and acceptable final wall or ceiling finish prior to decoration. Backing coats are between 9mm and 40mm thick under normal circumstances and the overall thickness can be built up in coast as necessary. The most common types of plaster are a composition of gypsum, lime or cement with water and sand to create a surface finish for interior walls, ceiling and sometimes exterior walls.

Benefits of plastering

Plaster coats and protects walls and ceilings and can be used to create architectural mouldings. It’s a durable and robust finish to any wall or ceiling and creates an even surface for the application of paint. One main factor is the ease and efficiency of plastering as it’s a quick method and less likely to crack. When it comes to creating something perfect, plastering is not an option but a necessity.
